From moments to milestones, jewellery is deeply personal, transforming the intangible and sentimental into something you carry with you every day.

For us, it is important to create for love with love – which is why we’re passionate about crafting ethical jewellery.

What makes jewellery ethical?

Ethical jewellery is consciously crafted with care for both people and the planet. Unfortunately, mining for metals and gemstones has not always been done with consideration for the environment or human life. We’re proud to be part of a new wave of jewellers standing up to these antiquated practices.

We use responsibly sourced, conflict-free, and recycled materials to reduce environmental impact and support safe, fair working conditions.

Metals

The majority of the gold, silver and platinum we use to create our jewellery is recycled.

Recycled metal is the same quality as newly mined metals, but without the environmentally damaging effects of mining.

We are also licensed to create jewellery with Fairtrade gold and Fairmined Silver, this ensures that your item of jewellery does not come at the price of human or environmental suffering. The miners are adults working with fair pay, in safer conditions, and produced with care for the environment.

Diamonds & Gemstones

We focus on providing ethically sourced gemstones in our jewellery, and always go the extra mile to find diamonds and gemstones with the most amount of traceability and certification.

We only use conflict-free diamonds from suppliers we trust.

It’s very important to us that the diamonds we use are from legitimate suppliers. Most of our larger diamonds come with further traceability (Fairtrade Canadamark, Ocean, Lab grown) and the majority of our small round and fancy cut diamonds are fairtrade Canadian mined.

Read more about the types of stones we supply below:

Natural diamonds are billions of years old, and have that magical connection to the earth and our environment.

Fairtrade Canadamark Diamonds: These diamonds are mined in Canada and are fully traceable, ensuring responsible mining.

Ocean Diamonds:

We are a proud supplier of Ocean Diamonds, a small Cornish company who supply diamonds found on the sea bed off the coast of South Africa, discovered by specialist local divers.

Laboratory-grown diamonds are identical to natural diamonds, the only difference is their origins.

This is sustainable and lower cost option for diamonds. We choose to source from labs that are SMETA certified, which means they use greener energy to make their diamonds.

We have selected trusted suppliers that we work with to source precious gemstones.

Most of the coloured gemstones we use are traceable. We know where they originated and ensure that they are ethical.

The Making

We will never outsource any of the making to workshops abroad in exchange for cheap labour, lower prices and higher profit margins.

All of our jewellery is made by us in our Bristol workshop, and anything we need to outsource (casting for example) is all done in the UK. The only exception to this is our CAD designer Carlos (who we have known for years) he now works freelance for us as he travels the world!

Packaging

We have chosen packaging that is kind to our environment, being from sustainable sourcing or recyclable.

Our engagement ring boxes are handcrafted in New Zealand from a solid piece of wood sourced from sustainable forest.

Our jewellery boxes are made from an FSC® Mix 70%, meaning 70% of the material comes from FSC-certified forests and 30% from recycled materials. We use wool felt inserts in these boxes, so we can happily say goodbye to nonrecyclable foam inserts

Our fabric jewellery pouches are made from Fairtrade cotton, our ribbon from recycled plastic bottles, and our stickers are biodegradable. Also all our postal boxes are made from FSC-certified card.

Suppliers

We only use suppliers that we trust. We use suppliers that share our values and provide a service that reflects the values that we hold close to our hearts.

We aim to be fully transparent in our business practices and use suppliers who are also fully transparent.

We are so incredibly proud to be part of the new wave of artisans who work hard and constantly evolve to meet ethical and sustainable expectations.

Each and every piece of our jewellery is truly crafted with love.

We hope that one day, ethical jewellery will be the industry standard; until then, we will continually look to improve and make a positive change- we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
