Whether you are looking for an engagement ring, unique wedding bands, anniversary jewellery, a piece to celebrate a special occasion, or simply to treat yourself – we would love to help you create something special that will be treasured forever.

Throughout the design process we will be on hand to guide you through the deeply personal process of designing your bespoke piece of jewellery.

Our Design Process

1.

Initial Consultation

The bespoke design process starts with a 15-30 minute call with us, where we’ll chat through initial design ideas and inspiration with you, as well as the budget you are working towards. This is a great opportunity for us to get to know more about you and/or your loved one, ensuring the designs are as personal and unique to you as possible.

Design

After your initial conversation, we will hand sketch a selection of designs for you to view, bringing to life the ideas we discussed, helping you decide on everything from the gemstone, cut, setting, and style of the ring. We will work closely with you to refine and develop your design until you’re completely happy.

3.

The Perfect Gemstone

Once the design has been narrowed down, we will start the hunt to find your perfect gemstone, ordering in a selection for you to view at our Stokes croft studio. If you aren’t local to Bristol that’s not a problem, we can send you pictures and videos. We will guide you with our knowledgeable advice on choosing the perfect gemstone for your ring.

Final Design And Quote

Before we begin the making process you’ll receive a sketch of your finalised design from a few different angles, so you can visualise how the piece will look as a whole, bringing to life every little design detail! If any aspects of the design need to be changed, now is the chance for any final tweaks. At this stage you will also be given the finalised quote to create your special piece.

The Making

Once the design is approved, we start to create your bespoke piece from our Bristol studio workshop. The making process varies from piece to piece, we use a range of techniques including wax carving, CAD, and goldsmithing. The making of your bespoke piece usually takes 6-8 weeks, however if there is a specific date you’d like your piece ready please let us know, as we will do our best to accommodate this.

Collection

Once your bespoke piece is complete, we’ll get in touch to welcome you to a collection appointment at our studio. If you have commissioned an engagement ring, we’d love to invite you and your partner in for a glass of bubbles to celebrate, once you’ve popped the question of course! During your appointment, we’ll check the fit and discuss your jewellery aftercare. If you’re not local we offer tracked and insured delivery to ensure your bespoke piece reaches you safely.

We understand the sentimental value jewellery holds, and how special these little pieces of adornments are to all of us. The history and reminders of those we love. We love transforming unworn jewellery into pieces that will be worn again and adored in a new form. Re-modelling jewellery is a beautiful way of having a bespoke piece completely suited to your style, whilst still retaining the sentimentality behind the piece.

Our bespoke design service for engagement rings starts at £1500, all other bespoke designs starts at £1000, (with the exception of plain wedding bands, and other smaller items of jewellery). We work to your budget when designing and sourcing gemstones, which we will discuss in our initial consultation call.

Once the design and quote is finalised, and we are ready to commence making, we will ask for a 50% deposit. The deposits are non-refundable. The balance is then payable on collection, or prior to delivery. *If you would prefer to pay in smaller installments staggered over time, until your collection date, that’s not a problem at all please ask us about this.

We offer a 10% discount on wedding bands for couples who we created an engagement ring for, this is for both of your bands.

We provide a free valuation for all bespoke items where the value of the piece exceeds £1000. If we are using your gemstones (from heirloom jewellery) there is a charge of £75 for your valuation.

We are super passionate about creating jewellery that is ethically made, making pieces for love, with love, is at the heart of what we create at India Mee Jewellery. We source our metals and gemstones to have the least environmental impact and only work with suppliers who treat their employees fairly and safely.

Traceability is really important when it comes to gemstones, if you know the origin, you can check that they are being mined in an environmentally conscious way, with care for the people and the planet.The majority of our gemstones come from a traceable origin, sourced from a small group of carefully selected trusted gemstone suppliers.

The metals that we use are predominantly recycled, which is identical quality to newly mined metals but it comes without the environmentally damaging effects of mining.
