Read on to find out more about our bespoke and remodelling process:

Your bespoke journey…

  • At India Mee we provide both bespoke and remodelling jewellery services.

Bespoke jewellery design means that we create you a completely unique piece of jewellery. We take your ideas and inspiration and design something tailored just for you.

Remodelling involves taking unworn heirloom jewellery and reworking it to transform old jewellery into something new that you love. We can use the precious metals and stones from your unworn jewellery, and incorporate new stones and precious metals into your design.

  • Get in touch with us here via our enquiry form

We will then have a consultation call, usually around 15-minutes, to discuss initial ideas, concepts, inspiration, style, and budget.

After taking a £150 design deposit, which is deducted from the final cost of your piece, we draw up the first set of designs and email them across to you for feedback.

We can develop your design over phone/email, or in our studio if you are local.

Once you are happy with the finalised design we ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit before we start making your piece.

It takes 5-8 weeks from deposit payment to create your piece. If you have a specific date in mind, we will try our best to accommodate.

Final payments are made before your collection appointment, or if you are not local we can organise tracked and insured delivery.

  • We have a minimum spend of Ā£1000 for our bespoke jewellery service.

Due to the labour intensive process of remodelling, the cost is similar to that of our bespoke service.

  • A lot of time and care goes into our design process, and since we are a small family studio we ask for a Ā£150 design deposit before we start drawing up your first designs.

This deposit is then taken off the final cost of your piece.

For bespoke and remodelled orders, we require a 50% fee of the total amount due as confirmation of your order before production can begin.

This fee is non-refundable. At this point, you will be committed to purchase and your order cannot be cancelled.

The remainder will then need to be paid in full before collection or dispatch of the order. We are more than happy to send you photos of your piece as it is in process.

We offer a 10% discount on wedding bands for couples who commission their engagement rings with us.

  • Making pieces for love with love is at the heart of what we create at India Mee Jewellery.

We are proud to offer consciously created jewellery with a fully traceable supply chain, made and mined without causing people or the planet to suffer.

We source our metals and gemstones to have the least environmental impact and only work with suppliers who treat their employees fairly and safely.

We use conflict-free diamonds and recycled or Fairtrade precious metals.

All of our packaging is recyclable and sustainable.

1. Get in Touch & Book a Consultation

Get in touch with us by filling out our enquiry form. Whether you have a clear vision or just an idea, we’ll be delighted to help refine your design!

Some things we’ll discuss in your consultation call:
āœ” Jewellery Type: Are you looking for a ring, necklace, earrings, or another custom piece?
āœ” Metal & Gemstones – We work with yellow gold, white gold, platinum, rose gold and silver. We have a selection of ethically sourced diamonds and gemstones, or we can source the perfect stone for your design.
āœ” Budget: Let us know if you have a specific budget in mind.
āœ” Deadline: Need your piece by a certain date? Let us know, especially for weddings or special occasions.

We offer initial 15-minute consultations over the phone to discuss your ideas, style, budget, and inspiration.

2. Sketching & Design Development

After your consultation, we will create your initial design sketches. We’ll send these by email for feedback. From there, we refine and develop your design until you’re completely happy.

If you’re local to Bristol, we’d love to meet in person for a cup of tea and to go over the details.

3. Choosing Your Gemstones

We have a selection of diamonds and gemstones to suit different preferences and budgets. We can send you photos and videos. If you’re nearby, you can pop into our cosy Stokes Croft studio to browse our collection.

For engagement rings, we start with choosing the centre stone (the main focus of the piece) and then build our designs from there.

4. Finalising the Design & Quote

Once you’ve decided on your final design, we create detailed drawings from all angles so you can see exactly how your piece will come together. At this stage, we provide a final quote for your special piece.

For remodelled pieces, we’ll have to see your jewellery in person before being able to make detailed drawings of the final design.

5. Payment & Making

Now that we have the final design for your bespoke jewellery, we’ll begin crafting in the studio after you’ve made the 50% deposit of the total cost. This deposit confirms your order and is non-refundable. The remaining balance is to be paid in full before collection or dispatch.

Making your bespoke piece will take roughly 5-8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the design. If you have a specific deadline, we’ll do our best to work to that date.

For remodelled pieces, we’ll ask you to sign a waiver before working with your gold and jewels as there is some risk in the reworking process.

6. Crafting & Completion

Your jewellery will be handcrafted by us (India & Jack) in our Bristol studio workshop to the highest standards using Fairtrade and ethical stones and precious metals. We’re more than happy to keep you updated during the process with photos and videos!

7. Collection or Delivery

Once your piece is complete, we’ll get in touch to welcome you to a collection appointment at our studio.

If you’ve commissioned an engagement ring, we’d love to invite you and your partner in for a glass of bubbles to celebrate!

During your appointment, we’ll check the fit and discuss your jewellery aftercare.

If you’re not local, we offer tracked and insured delivery to ensure your bespoke piece reaches you safely.
